What is the difference between the Xbox 360 Consoles
October 30, 2008
Xbox 360 – There are 3 bundles of Xbox 360 sold by Microsoft.
Arcade version: Comes with 256MB memory card, disc of Xbox Live Arcade games and demos, 1 wireless controller, NO HARD DRIVE.
Premium version: Comes with 20GB memory card, 1 controller, 2 Xbox, also includes component video cable.
Elite Version: Comes with 120GB hard drive, 1 controller, 2 Xbox games. Also includes 1 component video cable, and HDMI cable.
The biggest difference between the Xbox 360 consoles is basically the hard drive. The price difference is much less than if you were to buy the 20GB hard drive and component video cable separately. Whether you need the larger drive of the Elite will depend solely on whether you see yourself downloading a lot of games or movies from the market place. You can buy the 120GB hard drive separately, and it is possible to transfer your data from drive to drive, so that’s always an option. In addition, if you want to be able to download additional content for.
As for the video cable, that will depend on your TV. If you have a HDTV, you will definitely want to use the 360’s Component Cable Kit, or a HDMI cable. The standard AV cable and the S-Video cable do not support HD resolutions. This is another reason why the Premium is a better buy overall than the Arcade model.
