A thug from the hood who came with no shame
Went around Britain being insane
Before Ramadan came he lost his ways
Then he stepped back when reality hit his back
He looked around and nearly drowned

Until he felt the peace amongst his fellow Muslims who were on the streets

Praise to the lord he chanted while his heart missed a beat
While doing toba he fell to his feet
He ran towards the masjid n asked Allah for a treat
The azan went while he tried to repent
But it wasn’t too late that he corrected his mistake
And fell for Islam which was his defeat

The next stage in his life was to be with a wife
But not knowing where she was
He went online to see if he could try and fight

Then he saw her
Samera was her name
And apparently she had no shame
Her clean ways had led him to believe she is the one
Who will come around and go on

But den comes the email where it hit him back
But she wasn’t planning an attack
The parents stepped in and everything she reviled was from within

Samera Samera I hear him call my name
Every day without sounding insane
Her mind becomes confused
Thinking is this good news
As for why will she refuse?

A refugee who’s got a short fuse ……………………..

It can be a really stressful time going to University. For most young people it’s their first time living away from home and making your own way in the world can be quite a difficult transition. And let’s face it; often there can be no one there to help despite some parent’s good intentions.

So here is a quick guide to help you through what could be the most exciting period of your life.

 Pack the essentials
There is nothing worse than getting to university and finding you’ve forgotten the most important things. So keep a folder with all of the must haves in such as your passport, your student loans registration form (if you have one), and your qualification certificates. You’ll need these for enrolment. Otherwise things might get delayed and it will put a dampener on your fresher’s week.

 Be a chatterbox
If you’re moving in to halls this is a great way to make friends. Moving in day can be quite hectic but you’re bound to meet people as you go. So just be friendly and introduce yourself. And when you get a chance ask them if they’d like to go along with you to some of the fresher events.
During freshers you meet a lot of people but chances are you won’t stay friends with most of them. Once you start your course you normally settle with a group of friends. But you’ll find that you know most people on campus because of freshers so it’s really important that you go.

 Do your research
There are so many things going on at university, so find out what sports clubs and social events they have. Extra curricular activities look great on your CV and it’s also another good way to meet people and just have fun.

Once your course gets going you’ll have assignments on the go most of the time so it’s important that you find something to give you a break from that. Even if it is just a yoga class, there are so many things to choose from. So sign up the first chance you get.

 Work hard, play hard
It’s important that you do your best in your chosen subject. After all it’s what you plan to do as a career, so try and get your assignments in on time. There’s nothing worse than letting them pile up and then finding you’ve got more than you can manage. It’s crucial to find the right balance between work and fun. So make sure you make time for socialising. University is not just about academic learning, but it’s also about life experiences and enjoying yourself. After you’ve handed in that first assignment, you’ll really feel like you deserve that pint!

 Managing your money
This can be really tricky to master at first. Especially with all of the parties you’re going to. But remember your student loan is not an everlasting fountain of money, it will run out. So you need to be careful how you spend it. Don’t buy unnecessary things such as novelty junk. As tempting as it may be, you need to be wise how you spend your money. When grocery shopping, try and look for bargains such as buy one get one free’s and only get what you need. The last thing you want is to buy a load of food and then find it’s gone past its sell by date.

If you can get a part time job, that’s always a good thing. A few hours a week will really help your finances and you’ll be able to relax more and not worry as much about tightening those purse strings.

 Ask for help
If there comes a time when you’re feeling homesick or are just a bit down, don’t feel like you have no one to turn to. Even in the busiest of places like university, especially student halls you can feel lonely. It’s not uncommon. Speak to your tutor; they may be able to give you advice. If not there are counsellors at hand at your university. Whatever your predicament, whether it be struggling with your work or other personal problems, they are there to help. What you mustn’t do is hide away and be on your own. It always helps to talk to someone so don’t be afraid to be pushy if you need help with something.

 Have fun
This is probably the most important thing for you to do while at university. If you’re not having fun, there is no point in you being there. What you have to remember is that you are paying these institutions good money so you can study there. You are going to be at university for at least three years of your life so you might as well enjoy it. This will probably be the only time in your life that you can really let go and do what you enjoy doing. When it’s over, unfortunately you have to join the real world and get a job, and in most cases it’s responsibility from there on out. So make the most of your time at university. Find out who you are and take up every opportunity available to you. And hopefully you’ll find that it’s the best experience of your life.

The Lady M story continutes………………..

Lady M never believes in ‘Too much of a good thing’, especially when the good thing is offered very cheap. That’s how she came into possession of a big bag of lemon from the farmer’s market. Loaded with the bright yellow fruit, she set to work her magic around the house. Started off with displaying some of the yellow citrus in cute fruit bowls all around the house. The good thing about lemons is they hold the colour and shape for a long time and so she doesn’t have to bother to stop near the garage shop to pick up a fresh bunch of flowers every 2 weeks. Good for the purse , ahem.

After 4 such lemon baskets Lord M decided to intervene and showed the Red signal. The ever enthusiastic lady decided to put the lemon into other uses, if Lord feels that 4 bowls of lemons scattered around the house is an overkill. The next morning Lord was rudely awaken from his innocent sleep to see the lady standing in front with a tumbler and a smile. Ever so thankful for the small mercies in life, the Lord thanked the god that the lady had finally came into her senses to supply the man of the manor with a bed coffee, later to be discovered how wrong his assumption was. Though nothing compared to a cup of freshly brewed tea, the pale golden concoctation in the tumbler was pleasant in taste. Little did he realize that he was being the guinny pig to test the weight reduction powers of half a lemon mixed with a tea spoon of honey and lukewarm water, taken first thing in the morning. Lord could not complain, its much better than ½ an hour’s brisk walk in the cold morning.

The Lady also started a routine of taking a glass of lemon juice early in the morning as it is believed to cleanse your system and rejenuate the metabolism. Throw the lady hi-fi words like metabolism and health, and you can get her eat cat litter.

Lady offered half a glass of hot water with some lemon juice in it to Lord M, with an offhand ‘behave like grown up’, when he came back on Friday evening complaining about soar throat. Poor Lord M’s hope for some nice hot soup and lots of snoozes in front of the TV during the weekend looks like going in the drain. And to add to his irritation, the soar throat felt much better the next day. No more excuses for snuggling under the quilt and putting the feet up. Here I come, vaccum cleaner!

However, the ever optimistic Lord M tried to plead an upset stomach to get away with the cleaning task, only to be offered a black tea with lemon juice to settle the stomach.

The lemon was taking up bigger proportions of the Lady’s conversation with friends and suddenly she realized that she was the only ignorant one when it comes to lemon power.

Sheila reveled that she dispenses lemon juice mixed equally with ginger juice and honey to her toddler in the wake of the recent government ban on cough remedies for young children, and has realized that it works much better than the shop-bought remedies.

The health conscious Jasmine in the group takes lemon juice before breakfast as Lemon is a good source of Vitamin C and can be used as a natural Vitamin C supplement. Lemon juice taken daily can help prevent cold and associated sickness. It was also news to the lady that lemon contains more potassium than apple or grapes, which is beneficial to the heart.

The group, after a lot of peeping through the window ledges found out the secret behind the thick lustrous curls of the neighbor, who applies lemon juice to head to relieve acute dandruff and as a good hair conditioner. The lady did some internet research on this and came to understand that care should be taken to wash off the juice after 20 minutes. The longer the juice is left on, the chances of hair fall increases.

And so the lemon enthusiast is born and the food in the Menon household took a lemony turn - curries lazed with subtle tones of lemon juice, salads with small chopped lemon wedges, Big wedges to be squeezed on the fried chicken and fish for that tangy flavour and a crispy peanut snack with loads of chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves, green chilles and fried peanut all smothered in lemon juice!

Lord M , though appreciates the food, desperately hopes that the lady would forget the cold and soar throat remedies – he would otherwise have to rack his brain for more feasible ailments during the weekend which cant be cured with lemon – or hope that the vaccum cleaner breaks!

It’s often been thought that this is a man’s world, and in most cases this statement is true. Even in today’s society, women are still second class citizens. Many times I have heard of women doing exactly the same job as men, yet men are being paid considerably more, and for what?
Having a penis and a receding hairline?
It is instances like this that make women feel that they must compete, and whatever a man does a woman can do even better.

I am all for female rights and there is nothing wrong with women wanting to be treated as equal to men.
But I was watching a program a few days ago called “Sex in the Noughties” and I was totally shocked. It was a documentary about women’s sex blogs on the Internet and their sexual experiences. I was drifting in and out of the program, but this particular woman grabbed my attention.

She talked openly about her blogs and why she thought it was important to tell the world about her sexual conquests. And yes she was single, what a surprise!

She was trying to put over that it’s ok for women to sleep around because it’s ok for men to sleep around. But here’s where I have a problem.
It’s not acceptable for men to do it either. They are basically saying this to justify sleeping around like common prostitutes.
Who are they trying to kid?
Dropping your knickers for every Tom, Dick and Harry (no pun intended) does not make you an independent woman. All it makes you is a whore.

Now I would like to think of myself as open minded, and I am aware that in today’s society, people do have a number of sexual partners in their lifetime. But some of these women are pushing in to triple figures. So what sort of women are they?
And what exactly are they trying to prove?
Of course women should enjoy sex, but are these women really enjoying it as much as they make out?
I have my own theory about this. If you find a partner that is good in the sack, why would you want to keep on experimenting with others that might just turn out to be really bad in bed. I know if I had a bloke that knew exactly how to push my buttons, no way would I trade him in.
So maybe these women are just having bad sex.

But whatever the reason for it its quite sad. Maybe we would respect these women more if they were honest and simply said they were just looking for love, instead of covering the true facts up with seedy little stories of blow jobs and one night stands.
Let’s face it aren’t we all looking for love?
And in my experience sex can be so much better with that someone special.

I believe having morals is what gives us empowerment. And I think it’s important for men as well as women to have principles. Because without them, how can we obtain respect when we don’t respect ourselves.

In a small saucepan heat one knob of butter until it foams, but doesn’t burn. Add the tomatoes and fry for about 5 minutes, until they turn soft. Keep warm on very low heat and add the basil.
5. In a small non-stick frying pan heat the other knob of butter and when it’s foamy add the egg mixture. Reduce the heat to as low as possible and cook until eggs have set and the top is runny (5-8 minutes).
6. Spoon the tomato mixture onto the eggs mixture and pop the frying pan under the grill for about 30 seconds, until the top of the omelette has set but not turned brown.
7. Serve with toast, crusty bread, or with bread and a salad for brunch.

Where is the scariest roller coaster in the UK? Which drop will double your heartbeat? The Stealth at Thorpe Park. This coaster thrills you with a combination of height and acceleration; riders’ heartbeats usually double to 170bpm (beats per minute) and stress hormone levels triple.

The Stealth is a steel roller coaster built by Intamin AG of Switzerland. The coaster is located in the Amity Cove area of Thorpe Park in Surrey, England and was the park’s newest roller coaster in 2007. The ride reaches a maximum height of 62.5 metres (205 ft), which makes it the tallest launched coaster in Europe and the third tallest roller coaster in Europe after the Silver Star and the Pepsi Max Big One. The ride originally reached speeds of around 130 km/h (80 mph) in 2.3 seconds, however an upgrade in 2007 reduced this to 1.9 seconds. They tweaked the nitrogen boosters for a super acceleration of 0-80 mph in less than two seconds. Stealth was the fastest roller coaster in Europe, although it lost this record when Furius Baco opened in 2007 at Port Aventura in Spain. The ride produces G-forces of up to 2.02g and is thought to have cost £12 million.”

Scientists who were surveying the G-forces and acceleration speeds of coasters must have enjoyed their research. They actually issued a Top 10 list of scary roller coasters, with names like “Rita, Queen of Speed” and “Nemesis Inferno.” The tenth coaster on the list, Velocity, wins the prize for the amusement park with the funniest name: Flamingo Land, in North Yorkshire. Sounds almost better than the scariest roller coaster!

For coaster enthusiasts, you can join in the fun at The Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain. They organize trips, have the latest updates on coaster news, and you can meet members from all around the UK and Europe.

If roller coasters are your thing, then there are plenty in the UK where you can get your thrills. Happy coastering!

Just the other day, I found myself at a bit of a loose end and so I went to the cinema to cure my boredom. From the many films that were being shown, there wasn’t much that really appealed to me at the time. And without a second thought, I decided to go and see the movie release of Mamma Mia.

From the day I first saw it advertised, I had very little interest in going to see it. Don’t get me wrong I am a big fan of musicals, but I’ve never really found the more recent ones much good, such as Moulin Rouge or Grease. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t really beat the oldies.

Which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Mamma Mia. I had never seen the stage version of it and so I really didn’t know what to expect aside from the collection of Abba songs.

The story begins on a Greek island, where Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is about to marry her fiancé, but she is desperately trying to find her father to walk her down the aisle. Her mother, Donna (Meryl Streep) was a bit of a loose cannon and had fallen for 3 different men within weeks of Sophie being conceived.

Now 20 years later, after finding her mothers diary, Sophie narrows it down to her 3 contenders. Sam Carmichael (Pierce Brosnan), Harry Bright (Colin Firth), and Bill Austin (Stellan Skarsgard). Not knowing which one is her father; she invites them all to the wedding on behalf of her mother. And to Donna’s surprise, all three of them show up on the eve of the wedding. Still unaware of what is going on, she starts to panic as to why they have come.

The film was rated a PG but I actually thought it was slightly rude for anyone under 12. But I found it very funny and easy to watch.

The songs were intertwined with the story really well. And it was a real feel good film. I left the cinema wanting to sing and dance Abba all the way home.

I would recommend this film to anyone who is a fan of Abba or even just anyone who enjoys a good chick flick.
