Why doesn’t so many women go for smear tests

We are know its painful and nerve racking to have smears that no men have to go through but it has to be done so many years to know were safe.Maybe its the thought what the result will be when it comes back.
Or the fact why should i go it won’t happen to me.

How does one know what happens to our innerside as we get older
as women bodies change.

It only since poor Jade goody died that we are taking notice and when that
appointment arrives are you going to rip it up or go.

Nobody likes it but it doesn’t take long and its over.

Maybe you hate the coldest of the instrument the nurse uses as she enters you but its just a matter of lying still and gritting your teeth while its over.
As they are really patient nurses only doing their job. I believe that you have to look after yourself and not leave nothing to chance.

The next day the soreness as gone and its waiting for the results in the post.
Sometimes it does bleed but its nothing and the nurse can talk to you if you worried about anything your not sure of. When the appointment letter comes a leaflet comes with it explaining about what going to happen and how long and what happens at the end of your smear test.

I have had so many friends telling me how afarid they was not going but i look like this if you had children and gone so much pain having them than the smear will be such a breeze to that Maybe they feel fear or hate showing their bodies to male doctors but nurses do the smears and they cover your body were you don’t want them to see.

Before they start they ask you a few questions and then they ask you to undress and climb on the bed and then the smear test takes place.
It may make you a bit uncomfortable with your knees apart and the nurse undernearth but when you get use to going for smear test you get in the swing of things and know what going to happen.

The hardest is knowing when she starts to take a sample and when she finished but the nurses will tell you when you can to start getting dress again.It will a lot better when the new law comes in letting more younger woman take a smear test.

We can stand by and not do anything the smears are there for a reason and we must take it before its too late. Woman who have daughters shouldn’t put them off but explain how important it is too their health and if they can’t go on they own go with them as a support.

It doesn’t matter how shy you are the nurses will put at ease they seen hundreds of women go through the same boat as you.
If you bleed a little take something with you a tissue or pad just something till you get home but don’t worry its either were they have caught the skin as your skin is soft.

If the nurse finds anything wrong such as something that shouldn’t be there they will advice you on what to do not but nine out of ten they will find nothing.
Jake goody as made women feel like they should go and take that smear test again when years ago they would have said no chance. Come ladies lets see all of you going for these smear test and feeling so proud you have done it.
We know they isn’t much hope if we leave too late so please don’t leave nothing to chance any more. So next time you have a smear test appointment what are going to do pick up that phoneor be not brave and not go.

And wait for that sad word its cancer . No thats not we want ladies do it now make that move. We don’t get medals for going but believe me knowing that result comes back with no moving bad news makes you feel so much better.
