Cavity wall insulation advantages

May 27, 2008

Cavity wall insulation is a good thing if you want to save a little money on your heating and energy bills, as long as you don’t mind the cost of having it removed in about 10 years because its causing damp and mildew on the inside of your home. With the possibility of hefty bills for any re-plastering, rotten skirting and maybe even rotten joist ends.

My friends had cavity wall insulation installed 4 years ago and their house never gets really cold even in winter it holds its warmth and our heating is used very little. Together with loft insulation and double glazing insulating your home is well worth while. It adds to your comfort lowers your fuel bills and increases the value of your house.

If you are keen on spending some money on insulation, spend it on loft insulation. If your loft is cold then the heat is staying in the house, which is a good thing

In this eco friendly era I would consider cavity wall insulation to save heat to keep that thermostat down, but I will also consider the cost of having wall insulation and how long will it last.

There are plenty of government grants available which allow you to have it fitted in for free.
