The rise of the Manigan

June 11, 2008

Once the favoured office attire of a mature generation, having associations of sensibility and long walks, a faithful friend in ever changinmg times, the once humble cardigan has taken on a far more testosterone dominated role within society. As a closet cardigan fan I feel reproachful that the boys are muscling in on our territory ( and I hate to be pedantic but there is a line) And looking around at the current state of male fashion, lurking amoungst

I had similar misgivings when walking down the street, my retinas were continually bombarded with dots of pink, not, as I had momentarily thought, an after effect of sinking one too many glasses of rose the night before, but due to the abundence of men dressed in what can only be described as a rather brave shade of magenta. And admitedly enough I have almost come round to the idea of this, after all I had never really taken to wearing pink, almost as an act of defiance against the steroetype, so perhaps this was a kind of male rebellion, and as most girls will admit to, there is nothing more attractive than a bad boy ( que Colin Farrell, Christian Slater), but the question is, can knitwear ever really be considered.
