NORMAN TELLS THE USPGA THANKS BUT NO THANKS!
July 30, 2008
Golfer Greg Norman has declined the chance to play in the USPGA Championship in Detroit. This sensational revelation was made to Norman feeling playing for a week in a row is too much. His invitation was issued as of his inspirational and classic performance at The Open in Birkdale.“While I truly appreciate the PGA extending me an exemption for this year’s PGA Championship, I have elected to decline in favor of adhering to the professional and personal commitments I made prior to The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale,” Norman said on his website.
“I wish the PGA and Oakland Hills all the very best for what I’m sure will be a great week for golf.”
He told the press yesterday.
It goes to show than even the greatest of players need a chance to unwind. Even if some small time company like the USPGA come begging. Slippers and pipes at the ready…
