Where to find free 3D modelling software?

There are so many different kinds of 3d modelling software with various degrees of use towards a 3d modeling project. Perhaps the most complete is Blender, but others include Wings3D, Google Sketch-Up, CB Model Pro (beta) and a few others.

It all depends on what you desire as your 3d product. If you want models for just rendering many can do that, if you want to export models for a particular platform, you will have to look at feature sets and available export filters.

Blender is open source software which is available for XP/vista and you can find here http://www.blender.org/download – It’s very popular among beginners and advanced users and has good support.
