Alton Towers - Are you looking for a great family day out? Need a short break or time with the kids during school holidays? Alton Towers may be the place for you.
Alton Towers is a family-geared theme and amusement park that offers something for all ages. Toddlers and children can have a fun day exploring the park and riding the rides that are suitable for their age group. Adults can visit the spa or have an intimate dinner in one of the many restaurants available. A visit to the water park can take the edge off a hot day and give the family happy memories for months to come.
The park offers family fun for all ages: roller coasters, rides, live shows, and costume characters. There are fun packed activities for all ages. It’s a great day out for the weekend or during school breaks.
The park offers activities for adults, as well. A complete spa is on offer to pamper you for the day with masssages and facials, body treatments and an aqua relaxation room. There is a miniature golf course with two levels of play, or, if you want to get away on a hot day, a water park where you can splash and slide with the entire family.
There are two hotels at the park: The Alton Towers Hotel is open year round and is themed around the “great inventor and traveller, Sir Algenon Alton.” The rooms can sleep four to five people, or there are large and beautifully decorated suites available. The Splash Landings Hotel is a Caribbean village hotel that overlooks the Cariba creek waterpark. This hotel is also open year round and the rooms are decorated in Caribbean style. Both hotels have several restaurants and bars featuring live entertainment.
Alton Towers is located in Staffordshire, with easy access from the M1 or the M6. Day passes are available, or you can purchase a family weekend package that includes accomodation and entry to the park or parks of your choice.
If you are looking for a fun day out or a weekend or school break, visit Alton Towers and have a great time!

Alton Towers, What a nightmare! The day didn’t get off to the best of starts, what with Mr.Magoo as navigator. Needless to say, once we arrived, after taking a 30 mile detour (I never want to see Manchester City centre again), we weren’t exactly full of the youthful exuberance that we set off with. Having waited for the monorail to free us from the confines of the car park, we eventually set foot in the legendary theme park. As I was an “Alton Virgin”, my co-accused led us to our first assignment, “Rita, Queen of Speed.” Finally, after 50 mins of watching and listening to terrified riders as we waited in the labyrinthine queuing system, apparently it took over an hour and half on my friends last visit, it was our turn. “Hands in the Air!!!”, Whoosh!…..Finished! Worth the wait? You decide.
After a quick pit-stop, £3.50 a lager, rip-off!!!, we headed for the Nemesis. Not queuing as long this time, 30 mins. As rides go, one of the better ones we experienced that day. A couple of goes on The Oblivion and it was nearly time to go. Starving, a hot-dog would go down a treat, not at nearly £4 a throw, better wait for a road side-caff, bet we see plenty of them on the way back!!! Having negotiated our way from the car-park ,(be warned, £4 release fee) we headed on home, in a fashion. Yes, you guessed it, another detour, another 20 odd miles out of our way. Never using them internet directions again. Alton Towers, a good day out? Raid your bank account, go by coach or train on a quiet day, school-term would be good, and it could be quite pleasant!!!
